Circa 1989
My mother has been cleaning house... she wants the house clean for when she goes into surgery tomorrow. (Don't ask me, I don't understand it either.) Anyway, in her travels, she discovered my "journal" we were required to write in school in 2nd grade. I got a kick out of it, and as this is a journal of sorts, I figured I'd share this archaic journal of yore with the present journal-reading public. (Note: All spelling has been kept as-written in 1989 for an authentic feel. All notes by the 2005 version of Claire will be in parentheses and italics so as to be distinguished from the ancient text. It will also be blue.)

I liked it at chataqa lake. When we were there, we had lots of good stuff! we even brout our Nintendo! We had infadable things. We had a shark and an alagator.

yesterday I went to the dentist. And no cavadys! That is all I have to say.

I like it at sea world and kennywood. I also like to pig out on popcorn! And I like nintendo.

tonight is the first nigt at dance class. My frends cat is coming. His name is frank!! (Note: I remember this. I meant to say that Frank was coming to our house... we were cat sitting. He did not go to dance class.)

I am very tired. I have had a long day. I had g.a.t.e. today. Boy I am hungry.

I bout an old traper keeper from my sister. I am haveing agood day.

I had library. I have dance class.

I am haveing a good day exept for one thing I forgot my lunch! I am getting mad be cause Lauren and Ricky are making alot of noise. I like Mrs. Perella. (It never hurts to suck up to the teacher.)
